Thinking Blogger Award was Bestowed…On Me!!!

Lene from Families are Like Fudge nominated me for the Thinking Blogger Award. After having written a post or two that don’t exactly fit the mold of a Thinking Blogger, this award is especially appreciated. Sometimes after posting one of my NOT deep thinking posts, I feel like I should say, “But wait, it’s just a joke. I’m smart. REALLY. I am! I have a Master’s Degree for goodness sakes.”

Thanks Lene, for looking past my silly posts and seeing someone who actually does think. It means so much to me.

Now I get to choose 5 people who make me think.

First off is Sara from Suburban Oblivion. Hers was the very first blog I ever read, before I even knew what a blog really was. I had visions of bloggers being hunchbacked men with warts and moles and coke-bottle glasses. Obviously, I learned from Sara, that the blogosphere is a wonderful community, with open arms and thinkers! And I’m NOT just nominating her because I know her IRL. I’d nominate her if I’d never met her.

Secondly, I’d like to award Heather from the Queen of Shake-Shake. Again, she’s not just getting my nod because I also know her IRL. She can write about hemorrhoids, aunt flo, and gossip. But she can also write posts about her children that make me weep and think. Apparently she’s made several others think, as I think I’m the 3rd person to nominate her in the past 24 hours.

Next up is Brandy from It’s Like, I’m…mmmagic. I have no idea how Brandy found my blog, but I’m so glad she did! I started reading her blog daily because that girl can write! She has some of the most thought-provoking, touching, and funny posts I’ve ever read. If I ever go to Canada, I hope to meet her so that I can say I know her IRL.

My fourth nomination goes to Tulip Mom. She has recently written several posts about people in her life that were so touching. Additionally, she has a son with Autism and her stories about their life make me think. Having worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist with children with Autism, I enjoy reading her view as a parent.

Last, but certainly not least is Auburn Gal from Auburn Gal Always. Many of her posts make me crack up, but they also make me think. She is a very clever writer who is able to be funny, but still have a message to share.

Now it’s your turn (that is, if you so choose)….

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the “Thinking Blogger Award” with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog.)

Bestow away Thinkers!!!

Thanks again, Lene!!

You know, you really could have warned me ahead of time about this! You nominate me for an award reserved for “deep thinkers” just as I post about my son pissing on his sister’s leg.

Ahhhhh, such is the life.

What a great end to my crappy day! I will be out all day tomorrow but promise to get on this ASAP. Thank you so much!

Yes! The last time I won anything, I was in grade two and my prize was a paper crown. (I know this matter-of-factly because I still wear the crown on a bad day). Anyway, thanks for the shout-out!

Whoo! Congrats!

Yay You. Congrats on the Thinking Blogger Ward!
