Enough Boring Talk, Let’s Talk About Magic

Can you hear that? I think it’s quite possibly a chorus of angels singing the praises of my new camera with it’s glorious 8.0 Megapixels and 12x Optical Zoom. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alle-eh-luia!

Simply having this camera is definitely going to make me a better photographer. Surely my complete lack of natural photography abilities will be quickly remedied by gently pushing the picture-taker button. Aperture? Shutter speeds? Shadows? Rule of thirds? I’m certain this camera will magically make me just know what all of these things mean and thusly my pictures will become magical as well.

To prove my point, here is a picture I took with my old camera…

[picture removed]

See how Carson looks as if he’s been drinking a few too many white russians? This is surely the fault of my old, inferior camera and cannot be attributed to my lack of photography skills.

Here are two photos that I took with my new, superior camera…

[pictures removed]

Huh? Huh? Is that the sound of oohs and aahs I’m hearing across the Internet? Impressive, no?

I’m already anticipating a clamoring for me and my magic camera’s talents. The line forms….here.

I’m showing this to my husband so I too can get a new camera that will magically turn me into Annie Liebowitz.

That second picture of Carson (with the new camera) is stunning. Oh man, what a cutie pie!

    Nice camera.

However, I think we need to discuss this stuff about Carson having white russians. With social services. Or the police. Or somebody.

    Just kidding.

I loves me a Canon. Now, figure out how to do all of the manual settings and tell me. I used to know but I think that part of my brain fell out during one of my births.

BTW, I need to point out to everyone that I wrote two of the four posts currently listed in your “Nice to Share” widget. And you wrote one of them. If I can bump Momo Fali off, do I win something?

I love that you love me.

Oh that’s lovely- just lovely! Congratulations on your new toy.

(p.s. You might want to encourage Carson to lay off the vodka and milk for a while. Nobody likes a sloppy drunk toddler.)

LOL!! That is my camera as well. We just bought it a few weeks ago. My old camera was 7 years old and a mess. I love my new one!! The flip screen is a neat add on. The only issue I have had with mine is the lens cap. It seems to be loose, and pops off easy. The biggest reason we went with this one was the sound for video, as well as the zoom. You can add a bigger flash if you need to!! ENJOY!!! Isn’t it great!!!

My first thought was: where is MY camera, anyway? My second thought was: Who the hell cares? I want that camera. If I had that camera I would never lose track of it. Then I saw the beautiful pictures and I thought wow, now I’m REALLY jealous.

Gorgeous pictures! I do believe I need that camera before the baby comes. My birthday is coming up in Dec. so I might have to start dropping some hints about a combined birthday and Chanukah gift …

Hey! I came over from the NaBloPoMo blogroll. I think we read some of the same blogs- possibly Swistle, Zoot and Amalah. I have lived in the south for over twenty years now. Honey, it is CRAZY! When we first moved here from a really small town in California we lived in Stone Mountain. My mama took us the grocery store one weekend and as we were walking up to the entrance the Klu Klux Klan were holding a rally. In full Klan regalia. We turned around and left. It was a wonder my mama didn’t make my daddy move us back to California!

The super long point I was making- it grows on you. I love living in the south. It is never boring!

I love the camera, I am so jealous. I want one so bad. I just have a crappy point and shoot one.

I love all the pictures…it may just be a magical camera. But that first one is awesome. Drunk baby pics rock. I wish I could post the one I have of Liv, it’s awesome.

Congrats on your new toy. My new toy turned into an obsession/hobby. The kids come home with a cookie they made at school … “Mom, take a picture. So we don’t forget.” Now I am trying to organize 1,341 pictures from the Summer alone into photobooks. I have a long night ahead of me.

Ah, nothing like the pictures of a new camera huh?! I got a new Camera for my Bday/Mother’s day this past year. We used to go for the $100 specials (the closer to $100 it was, we got it). But after a year or two they would always break somehow (one had yellow lines in the photos and the other stopped turning on all together) I told DH we HAD to move our camera budget up.

I got a Kodak Easy Share and I LURV it!It was $300 and man it takes $300 pics! LOL And unlimited movies too! With sound!

I am looking forward to my next camera purchase, but I know that won’t be for a while as I want a $3000 this time. ;-)

Ian has one of those digital SLR cameras with the lenses and 100 different buttons on it, and I don’t even know how to turn the damn thing on :/ Once you become the photography queen you’ll have to show me how to use it!!
