I also used to have pin straight hair. I LOVED it. Then I had kids and now it's mostly straight in the front and gets curlier as it nears the back of my head. It's highly irritating. I am also a current daily straightener as well. It kind of sucks. Good luck with your hair cut. Bangs are scary, but if your hair is trained the right way, they can look really good. The dark brown is good, but maybe some slightly lighter highlights as well?
