Yum, mud bugs! I do not suck the heads but I do love me some crawfish!! I am fraid that your weekend sounds more exciting then mine. Tonight we’re having movie night (hubby and I) and watching SAW 3. Saturday the GirlScouts are pimping my daughter and her products off at our local Kroger. And then of course Sunday is house cleaning day and I am afraid it is time to change the hamster’s cage - eek.

Beer totally helps with milk production. My grandma said so, and she was the “thank god for car seat innovations” type, not the “don’t reach higher than your head while pregnant” type. She did love beer.

The thing that pissed me off most about breastfeeding was how the public health nurses here say it’s best, but then try to pressure you into supplementing with formula. With #1, this made me paranoid that I was slowing starving my baby to death. Just what a sleep-deprived and depressed new mother needs…

Beer totally helps with milk production. My grandma said so, and she was the “thank god for car seat innovations” type, not the “don’t reach higher than your head while pregnant” type. She did love beer.

What is there is no balance between the two at all?
I’m beginning to realize that parenting should be more about the moment and not the What If.
If Payton has taught me anything in his 6 years so far, it’s the fact nothing is within my control. Control as a parent is an illusion that we trick ourselves with as we play this mom game.

I remember my mother covering my eyes so that I couldn’t see what was on tv when I was a kid. In the mid ’70’s. And we didn’t have cable. What in the hell could she have been hiding from me?
We are much more liberal with our son, though we try not to cuss in front of him if we can help it. He’s nearly three and hasn’t cussed yet and we consider this quite an achievement.
I always figure if my mother had been a little more chill and hadn’t tried to keep the world from me I could have avoided my “wild spell”.
But damn, if that wild spell wasn’t fun….

I played barbie and ken make a baby to. Wow I’ve waited a lifetime to come out in the open with that one. The funny thing is I was pretty niave as a kid and was shielded from a lot of things, but barbie and ken making sweet sweet barbie love just came naturally.

I grew up much the same way. We were even allowed to (gasp!) swear in front of my parents.
Your radio show sounds great - I’ll have to tune in. The thing that pissed me off most about breastfeeding was how the public health nurses here say it’s best, but then try to pressure you into supplementing with formula. With #1, this made me paranoid that I was slowing starving my baby to death. Just what a sleep-deprived and depressed new mother needs…
