Notice anything different about me?

giant zit

I know you can’t see it very well, but do you like my purple shirt? I got it because it makes me think of Maddie.

What about the glasses on my head? It’s a bad picture of my glasses, but they are aviator sunglasses. OHMommy told me they were all the rage this season and I tend to listen to her when it comes to matters of fashion. Tate calls me Poncherello whenever I wear them, but WHATEVER, I look totally cool AND I get to pretend I’m an honorary CHiP.  OHMommy also said that she’d be wearing more earrings to show off her cute new haircut and since _I_ have a cute new haircut, I’m following her lead on the earrings.  Pretty sassy, huh!?

Oh and I’m having a little issue with GIGANTIC ZITS INVADING MY FACE.  You probably didn’t even notice, but I figured I better say something lest you think I had some sort of tumor or alien growing on my cheek.  All I can say is, thank goodness for concealer. Too bad my Ponchorello sunglasses don’t cover it up.

Blame it on the pollen. (Everything is the pollen’s fault these days.) And if it’s bothering you, maybe dig out last season’s Jackie O glasses, just for a day or two for some extra coverage?

Everyone seems to be getting snazzy hair cuts lately. I guess it’s time for me to make an appointment. I am not so sure of the aviator sun-glasses though. I am too much of a fan of my big bug like sunglasses.

And, don’t even get me started on the whole zit thing. I swear for the last three months my face has forgotten that I have been in my 30′s for the last two years. Not only that, but that it also needs to act like the skin of a 30 some year old, not that of a shy awkward 15 year old girl.

Yeah, I’ve been getting them, too. It’s especially fun when my kids come up and want to poke at ‘em.

My giant zit is on my chin. A second one popped up before the first one went away so I’ve had it for close to a month now. Yay me.

All that to say, Join the club.

I’ve been washing my face with 49% olive oil, 49% castor oil, and a few drops of tea tree oil (I mixed it in a resealable plastic bottle I got at Walmart for like 50 cents). I smear it all over my face, let it soak in for a minute, and then take it off with a washcloth and the hottest water I can get out of the tap. I think I’m doing this 2 or 3 times a week to fight dryness.

I am also using baking soda as a scrub. Just mix it with water until you get a paste, slap it on, rub rub rub (watch out for chapped lips, though – ouch!), then take it off with warm water.

I got sick of putting chemicals on my face all the time. It’s working. Try it!

(I never thought I’d have wrinkles, gray hair, and zits simultaneously! Sucks!)

I was 33 when I graduated from college (I was on the take slow program!) and I graduated with double honors and the WORST case of acne evah… One pimple decided it liked my chin so much it hung around for 3 months until I finally went on Proactive.

Proactive? Gift from the Gods… I can now wash my face once a day with just the cleanser and the rest of the time with car grease and still no pimples.

I thought Dirty Thirties was about the sexual awakening in a woman…. No, it obviously was reference to my pores…

Whatever. I know an alien face hickey when I see one. You’ve been abducted again, haven’t you? An*l probes too, I bet. You weren’t fooling me with your “cleaning out the medicine cabinet and came across An#lpram tube” the other day.

    I’m onto you.

Yup, and again, we are reminded that the whole line our parents told us about zits just happening in our youth was an out and out lie.

:) I had a zit like that on my chin a couple weeks ago. I named it Larry, because it just seemed like he was going to hang around for awhile. And he did. Actually there is still a mark. I chalk it up to stress. Glad to know I’m not the only one out there with a Larry.

Oh my, I love this! I am still LOL’ing

I have this problem, it’s ridiculous really. I mentioned it to my doctor and happened to ask if this is going to “happen until menopause”, her reply was “yes, then after menopause you’ll probably get rosacea.”

Super. I’m going to open a store called zits & wrinkles. It’s gonna make me millions.

Awesome aviators. I need a style-guide friend. Last time I got glasses my daughter said to me, ‘I can come with you next time you need glasses, if you want.’ Ouch.
