Remember how my vacation wasn’t exactly relaxing? Ah, the optimist in me was so sure it would be nothing but smiles and lounging on the beach. The “Unwind with Conundrum Wine Relaxation Basket” arrived just a few days after I got home.
It came at the perfect time to help me contemplate my own conundrum…Will I ever take my ungrateful children on vacation again or will I plead with family to watch them for a week each summer so that Tate and I can escape? Hmm….
Not only did I receive a bottle of Conundrum wine, a blend of white wines, I also got a pair of comfy socks, a relaxation CD, a soy candle, an eye mask. Somehow I got suckered into sharing the bottle of wine with Tate. He kept talking about it tasting sweet and buttery and being able to detect the oak tannins. In other words, he sounded like the teacher character on those old Peanuts cartoons. “Wah, wah, wah, wah.”
I just thought it tasted great. It was sweet and um, good! It would have been fabulous with some strawberries and cheese, you know, if I would have thought ahead and bought some strawberries and another type of cheese besides string cheese.
I kept the rest of the contents of the basket for myself and enjoyed an evening alone* in my tub where I wore my eye mask, listened to the relaxation CD, and lit the candle. (*To be alone, I waited until Tate was out of town last week and the kids were in bed. I knew that if I mentioned to Tate that I wanted “relax in the bathtub,” he would have interpreted that to mean something else entirely.)
