HAHAHA … I read this a few days agon and I’m still gleeful at the thought of this doctor having to “take her medicine” … and I’m very happy to hear that her experience has helped you and Shel out (or at least now she’s willing to try and help). I hope the zantac works. I am thinking the prevacid might be helping mine because we skipped it one night and there was much more hell to pay.

My first is now six. His ped didn’t have children at that time and had the same advice as your doc. She just didn’t get it. She now has a one year old and was practically throwing the prescription at me and she never mentioned once, this time, that some babies just cry.

I hope things are getting better over there.

Let us know how Shel is doing on the Zantac. How is it going getting her to take it? I remember that being difficult at first as its strong pepperminty taste can’t be masked with special flavorings.

That is great that the doc changed her tune! My youngest had acid reflux. That child could hit a target across the room with her vomit.

Glad the ped visit went well! So funny how she changed her tune! Ginger was on Prevacid and Axid. I felt like the Prevacid really worked for her. I have a friend whose baby had three different medicines before they found one what worked for his reflux. So know that there are other medicines out there if the Zantac doesn’t work. Hopefully it does!!! I saw an immediate difference with Prevacid.

Yay for a supportive pediatrician! Hope the Zantac works.

Cordy was a colicky baby, and sadly, Mira may be proving herself to have colic as well. Tonight we had a three and a half hour screaming period, and yesterday we had a three hour crying period in the morning, followed by another two hours in the afternoon. Ugh.

Unlike Cordy, though, I don’t think she has reflux. No signs of it at all. I’m interested in trying probiotics - any idea which ones to use and where to get them?

Glad to hear that you doc gave 'Shel Zantac. I wanted to suggest it, but I didn't want to freak you out! Did she diagnose her with reflux?

Logan arched his back too...sometimes pretty violently. The Zantac helped a lot, but his GERD was bad enough that we needed to add Prevacid into the mix. That was like the sun finally came out!

Glad to hear she listened! I just read an article about a “cure for colic” in People magazine. I think it dealt with acid reflux, though, and I think you have that handled!
