On B_uttholes and Button Holes

Our conversation over lunch yesterday…

Carson: Oh no! Daddy shirt, hole!

Tate: It’s okay, it’s just a button hole.

Carson: Daddy’s b_utthole? I see Daddy b_utthole!

Tate: [Laughing] Yes, it’s daddy’s button hole.

Carson: [Looking down at his shirt, smiling gleefully] My b_utthole! My b_utthole! Look my b_utthole!

Tate: [Trying to get him to say button hole] Button hole, Carson, button hole.

Carson: B_UTThole!!! B_UTThole!!! My B_UTThole!!!, Daddy’s B_UTThole!!! Mommy? See my B_UTThole?

Me: [Thinking to myself, Oh yes, Carson, I see your b_utthole every, single day.]

A proud, proud day, indeed, at Casa de Playgroupie. I don’t know about you, but I love talking about b_uttholes at lunch!

  1. Reminds me of when I was teaching my oldest the different betweens ships and… something that isn’t a “ship”. Too funny girl!

  19. Ah yes, such a proud day. Much like the day when my darling daughter looked into the toilet as I got up and said “Mommy, pboop. Bye bye Mommy pboop.” Never prouder, lemme tell you, never prouder.

  22. You know there will come a time in our children’s lives when they will have to take us, with our sagging drooling selves, out to lunch and then we can dominate the conversation. And then they will pay!

  24. I love it when they’re just learning to really talk. It’s so much fun.

Back when my niece was two, she kept asking for the fuck. Where my fuck, where it is? Turns out she meant her luck, as in her lucky dog. No idea where these things from.

ps. You though I was going to say duck, didn’t you? I did too…for the 25 times I asked her about a duck until she finally found what she really wanted.

  29. I tell Punkin he has a little button nose.

He tells me I have a butt nose, too.

I told him his daddy may be a butt head, but that we weren’t butt noses.

    He didn’t laugh.
