Haiku Crappy Christmas Card

Haiku Friday

Beyond frustrated
Why is it so hard, kiddos
to get a good shot?

 Look at the camera!
Don’t eat the ornaments, please.
Sit still, say “cheese”, ugh.

Hey look!  There’s my knee.
Gosh darn.  Kid friendly cursing.
Why do I bother?

At last, a cute one
But, Carson’s cup’s in the shot
FACKity, FACK, FACK!!!!

At least I got one
Too bad Ella’s not in it
Back to square one.  Shit.

To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:

1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What’s a haiku, you ask? Click here.

2. Sign the Mister Linky below with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your generic blog URL). We will delete your link if it doesn’t go to a haiku. If you need help with this, contact Christina or myself.

3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button above.

I take thousands of pictures each year……can I say i have just ONE that I would even consider sending in a card this year?? It was taken at a duck pond near here in Sept or so.

Do one of those cards on Shutterfly where you can put two pictures!!

Also, can I just add,,,,LOVE your new site….I can just click and it loads and I can read!!

I love them. My kids are the same way. If one acts right the other is looking like a loon. I think they try to see how many pics I will take.

Nice new digs! Same great header!

The pics of the kiddies are so cute. I wouldn’t have noticed the cup if you hadn’t mentioned it!

Its SO much harder with 2 than with 1. I normally take Liv somewhere to have them done, but we’re doing them at home this year and we’re having the same problems!

    Great pictures!

I understand the frustration though. I think we’ll be doing one of those collage type cards where I can put two or more pics in!

The last two are great – I know in the past I’ve gotten picture cards from people with two different pictures on one sheet – it look good. Maybe you can do that and call it done? I didn’t even notice the cup until you pointed it out. =) We tried to get some of the two boys in front of the tree – they look awful. Just awful.

    Haha! Great Haiku!
I know the frustration. My boys are total hams, but it is still hard to get them all looking at me and smiling at the same time. Have you tride bribery? Yelling? Threats of violence? jk
    Good luck!

We played this same game with the boy child & dog a few weeks back. I don’t understand why they never do what you want when you want??

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. Get a card made with each of those last two pics – they came out great!

Those are actually good! We got a pro shot taking this year (with our golden) and in one shot we’re all looking and he’s sniffing his butt. Yeah, nice. Pretty much sums up my life.

I feel your pain. It took 3 adults 45 minutes and 3 cameras to get one decent shot of my kids together.

seriously, i practically peed in my pants i laughed so hard. i feel your pain! getting all three of my children in one place looking the same direction…yeah, it’s just not happening.

What’s wrong with the first picture? I think that would make a great Christmas card – both of them looking at the tree.

    But that’s just me.

That was so funny — I totally relate!!! Thank you for sharing those pictures of your funny and beautiful children!

Aren’t Christmas photos just one of the most frustrating things ever?! Getting a shot where they both look good just seems nearly impossible. I am having the exact same problem.
Those are gorgeous singular shots (I wouldn’t have even noticed the cup if you hadn’t pointed it out.)

  25. Christina
    December 7, 2007 | 1:35 pm

I think it’s impossible to get the kids looking good at the same time. We’re having the same problems, with similar frustrations.

Use the last two – some picture cards will let you put in two photos.

Haha… I have issues like this (love the ku about the cup being in the shot) already with Braden. Can’t imagine what it’s like to add another squirmy body!

    :-D

Those last 2 shots are excellent, though, really. :-)

    Photoshop can fix
the cup; love the pics of your
    beautiful kiddos

That’s gonna have to do it for me for Haiku Friday. We had a hard time getting ours to be photogenic at the same time, too. Especially challenging was the “kiss your sister” shot. Em would kiss Lucy for a microsecond and then pull away, not quite grasping that she needed to look like she was kissing her sister long enough so we could get the picture. Kids’re such fun, aren’t they? :)

Anyone who notices and cannot forgive the cup, is obviously not a parent. Therefore, their opinions do not matter in the world of kid holdiay photos.

    Never get a good one.

Can you use a card that uses 2 pictures? Most of the photo card places have those options now. Then you could use one photo of each kid. They don’t both have to look cute in the same picture!

I am completely stressing out about our picture. Our photo shoot OUTDOORS (anal hubby insists on it) was a bomb. It was so damn cold my four year old was PISSED and looked like the devil child in every shot.

I might have to lock my husband in the basement and take some shots near the nice warm fireplace.

But they are still adorable photos!

I never attempted to take photos of the kids for Christmas cards, but we did use their photo in Santa’s lap one year. That really doesn’t count, though, since I didn’t take it!

I love the one where they are lying under the tree. They are such beautiful children, much cuter than my teenagers any day!!!!

Ahh, but they’re precious!!! I can so relate to Christmas-card-picture troubles. I still haven’t gotten THE ONE I’m envisioning in my mind. And I only have one kid! *sigh*

That is so funny! And exactly what I go through every time I try to take a picture of the kids – heaven forbid it’s the kids and the animals! I was just thinking yesterday about how I could cut and paste pics for a Christmas card so that everybody is looking/smiling!!

    They are SOOOO cute!!!

I’m guessing you have the card figured out now, but have you thought about those collage kinda cards where you can put two or three individual shots on the front? It would solve the two in one shot thing (though of course that’s nice to get, but really???).

I’m sure someone already said this…oh well.
Catching up on commenting here. heh.
