Haiku Oh My God, I Have Been Keeping A Secret

Haiku Friday

I’ve had a secret
I’ve been dying to tell you
No, I’m not pregnant

Bye, Alabama!
We are headed for cornfields,
fried pepsi, the moosh!

Let’s go Hoosiers! Colts!
We will be moving next month
Hope there won’t be snow

Oh this feels good, really, really good to get out. I’ve been DYING to say something, but had to wait until the move was  officially announced at Tate’s job. Since October I’ve been teetering on accidentally spilling the news, it’s so exciting I feel like it’s been sitting at the edge of my lips, ready to fall out. This news that I couldn’t share made NaBloPoMo even more challenging since SO MANY of my topic ideas centered around this very important detail. Remember my orgampage? It was so hard not to just say this orgampage is because WE’RE MOVING.

This is so liberating.

Now I can talk about the challenges of having a house for sale AND having two very messy babies and two very messy hound dogs. Now I can tell you just how flippin’ ridiculous it is to even be considering potty training since the whole moving situation is likely to put a huge damper on any progress we’re (unlikely) to make. Now I can ask for advice like, “how the hell am I supposed to do this?!” “How will I keep my kids warm in the winter?” “Will I have any friends in Indiana?” “What if people think it’s weird that I blog?” “Should I leave out the fact that I blog in new social situations?” “Should I just never say the word ‘blog’ just to be safe?” “What is wrong with me?”

Be prepared and put on your thinking caps, Internets. I need A LOT of advice.

****Also, if you are interested, I wanted to let you all know about a haiku contest at LeastLikely2Breed.net. Details can be found at their site, but the basics are if you e-mail them a haiku about one of their products, you can win a cool prize. And for each entry they receive, they’ll donate $.50 to Doctors Without Borders. Deadline is Dec. 22.

To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:

1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What’s a haiku, you ask? Click here.

2. Sign the Mister Linky below with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your generic blog URL). We will delete your link if it doesn’t go to a haiku. If you need help with this, contact Christina or myself.

3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button above.

I know you will love leaving ‘bama!! I have done the selling-the-house with two babies! It is doable, but a total PIA.

I don’t tell people I blog, though my family does read it. It’s kind of like my little secret! When Husband gets back, I am not sure how I will continue since he is the main reason I blog.

Yay! I’m so happy for you. Although, having sold a house while having just one child, I’m wishing you much luck for the next few months. But still, it’ll be totally worth it to be out of Alabama, right?

Wow, I will miss you! Even though I only know you through your blog, which will still be here. I know; I’m weird.

Good luck to you on the move, and getting the house sold, and all that jazz!

I don’t know if I would mention blogging in social circles or not. On the one hand, I’d like for people I know IRL to know it’s there, because you never know who you might really have things in common with……on the other hand, I come on my blog and b*tch about people who might not apprecaite it. And then I’d feel that I couldn’t blog as I’d like to, if I had to hold back. Does that make any sense?

Oh boy. I’m glad you’re happy about this move. It’s closer to “home” for you, so that’s probably great. E-mail me and tell me where in IN you are (I’m in Ohio, not too far from IN at all). I hope it all goes smoothly. At least the move and everything will make for good blog material. ;)

Oooh, good for you! Can’t believe you kept it in. When we were getting ready to move, I told everyone I knew, then told them not to tell cause The Man hadn’t told work yet. Man, am I stupid, but thankfully it worked.

Good luck on the move, and watch your wallet this time.

    Congrats on the move!
Lands End sells some great cover-all coats for baby. They’re fleece and not big and bulky. I’ve been keeping Liam in his car seat carriet for as long as I can so I can just throw blankets over him. But, when that doesn’t work I use his new coat.
I hate bundling up Quinn – his coat is just so big and bulky and then to get him into the car seat. Ugh. Welcome to the midwest.
Oh – and get some sleep sacks for Ella to sleep in.

It’s not hard to find good clothes to bundle the kids in. You’ll want some fleece sleepers for Ella – Mira lives in them right now.

Congrats! That’s very exciting. I HEART Peyton Manning, so I’m very jealous. I’d love to live in IN so that I’d actually have a better excuse to be a Colts fan!

Good luck with selling the house!

I’m so happy you finally get to leave out of ‘Bama!

OMGosh… too funny that I live among the cornfields and snow and we have been waiting and waiting and hoping and waiting to MOVE TO ALABAMA!!!!!!! LOL.

We had a chance in 2003 for Jasper and turned it down hoping for Hoover only to have it completely fall through our fingers, hit the floor, smash into a thousand pieces and never come back again.

We kick ourselves a bit for that one.

Good Luck in your move – if we had a transfer to Alabama we could have swapped houses. ;)

STOP potty training now! Just forget about it until your in the new house for a month or so. We’ve moved soooo many times. My daughter had lived in 3 states by the time she was 3 – Michigan, Illinois, and now Minnesota. She’s now 4.

My son was potty training during the move to Illinois and I might has well not even started in Michigan. Really, you’ve got too much going on, just forget the potty training. He or she (I just started reading your blog, don’t know which it is yet!) will be ready after your settled.

Good luck with everything, hope the house sells and you find a nice new one! I’m brimming with moving advice if you want more…
