Haiku Oh My God, I Have Been Keeping A Secret

Haiku Friday

I’ve had a secret
I’ve been dying to tell you
No, I’m not pregnant

Bye, Alabama!
We are headed for cornfields,
fried pepsi, the moosh!

Let’s go Hoosiers! Colts!
We will be moving next month
Hope there won’t be snow

Oh this feels good, really, really good to get out. I’ve been DYING to say something, but had to wait until the move was  officially announced at Tate’s job. Since October I’ve been teetering on accidentally spilling the news, it’s so exciting I feel like it’s been sitting at the edge of my lips, ready to fall out. This news that I couldn’t share made NaBloPoMo even more challenging since SO MANY of my topic ideas centered around this very important detail. Remember my orgampage? It was so hard not to just say this orgampage is because WE’RE MOVING.

This is so liberating.

Now I can talk about the challenges of having a house for sale AND having two very messy babies and two very messy hound dogs. Now I can tell you just how flippin’ ridiculous it is to even be considering potty training since the whole moving situation is likely to put a huge damper on any progress we’re (unlikely) to make. Now I can ask for advice like, “how the hell am I supposed to do this?!” “How will I keep my kids warm in the winter?” “Will I have any friends in Indiana?” “What if people think it’s weird that I blog?” “Should I leave out the fact that I blog in new social situations?” “Should I just never say the word ‘blog’ just to be safe?” “What is wrong with me?”

Be prepared and put on your thinking caps, Internets. I need A LOT of advice.

****Also, if you are interested, I wanted to let you all know about a haiku contest at LeastLikely2Breed.net. Details can be found at their site, but the basics are if you e-mail them a haiku about one of their products, you can win a cool prize. And for each entry they receive, they’ll donate $.50 to Doctors Without Borders. Deadline is Dec. 22.

To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:

1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What’s a haiku, you ask? Click here.

2. Sign the Mister Linky below with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your generic blog URL). We will delete your link if it doesn’t go to a haiku. If you need help with this, contact Christina or myself.

3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button above.

  1. Happy Haiku everyone!

And congrats on the move. It’ll be great, I’m sure. You could always tell the little ones that they had better get trained because they don’t have diapers in IN. But I’m mean that way. :)

Well, anyway, I am excited to hear all about the preparation and the move and the new job and everything.

  7. I can’t believe you kept it a secret for so long. I would have spilled it on the first day - but told the internets not to say anything (ha!) And about telling people you blog, unless I know people read blogs or have one themselves, I rarely mention mine. Sometimes I have said something and people look at me like I have two heads. They just don’t get it.

  9. As a former D-towner AND a Hoosier I expect you’ll like Indianapolis very much as long as you are okay with driving in bigger cities. I’d live in Indy in a heartbeat except my hubs has major problems with it’s size and pain in the ass factor. If it’s not Indy, then it’s sort of up in the air. You can find every sort of town in Indiana from the most racist and conservative, to pretty liberal with lots of university influence (not just Bloomington).

  10. Ok.
Now I feel even like we have even MORE in common. I’m a lurker. I found you through Moosh in Indy. We live in good ole’ Indy, too. My husband recently got a job in the northern part of the state, so we’re moving, too. Our house has been on the market since early September, and I have two little ones, too. I feel your pain.
If you’re in need of an Indiana friend, and you end up being close to me - hey. I’m just saying. We’ll have to get Casey, too. Oh my gosh! What a fun imaginary day!!! :-D
Good luck with everything! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a speedy and smooth move for you!

I’m right outside the city in suburbia (Westside, yeah!)…so you’ll have a couple of internet buddies at least!!

What part are you moving to? (You can email me that if you want. I promise not to stalk you, but I have an in with a playgroup on this side of town and can move you to the top of the list if you wish :P)

Yay for another Indy-ite!! We’re growing stronger!! Moosh, me, you…yikes…scary

I don’t know if I would mention blogging in social circles or not. On the one hand, I’d like for people I know IRL to know it’s there, because you never know who you might really have things in common with……on the other hand, I come on my blog and b*tch about people who might not apprecaite it. And then I’d feel that I couldn’t blog as I’d like to, if I had to hold back. Does that make any sense?

My son was potty training during the move to Illinois and I might has well not even started in Michigan. Really, you’ve got too much going on, just forget the potty training. He or she (I just started reading your blog, don’t know which it is yet!) will be ready after your settled.
