Haiku Melt

Haiku Friday

I smell your sweet head
My heart aches, thinking you may
be my last baby

What is this urge for
just one more? Will I always
yearn for another?

We lock eyes, we smile
You are enough, your brother,
too. Savor right now.

Happy Holidays everyone, wishing you safe travels, magic calorie-free food, and LOTS of surprises from Santa!

  6. OH geez - I feel the exact same way. Except I’ve got two boys so everyone in the world is telling me to have another. “You NEED a girl” they’ll say to me. “Don’t you want a daughter?”

  7. I always want one more when I get to hold a new one….until they start crying. Then I’m glad my baby is already one, and that long first year is over. Other people’s babies though…..bring ‘em on!

A very merry Christmas to you and yours too! And some of that magic, calorie-free food!

  9. SB just asked me last night if we were going to have anymore babies after this one. Telling him this would be our last one seemed so final (I did, though). Makes me wonder if everything will be tinged with a bit of bittersweetness ….

Merry Christmas to you and your family too!

  10. I’m the same way. Even though I am pregnant and swear this will be my last and we only want two kids, the thought makes me sad in a way.

  11. I’ve had the same conflicting thoughts. We’re done, I say, and then I wonder - what if we had just one more? It drives me crazy sometimes. I know we can’t handle a third (financially or mentally), but that desire for another is downright primal sometimes.

  15. Awwww, so sweet!

Remember what I told you awhile back? Uh huh. I’m gonna hound you until you do it.

BTW, I still have moments when I want another. Remember the boiling pasta dream? haha! Then the boys start fighting and the moment is gone. Well, at least I get to play with baby Peter.

  27. Aww! So sweet! I was getting mild baby twinges last week when I realized Lucy is sitting up and eating solids. She’s not my limp little newborn any more. I’m with you, trying to remember to savor these days.

PS: I totally stole your Bumbo-for-pictures idea for Lucy’s Christmas pictures - it worked ok, but her dress didn’t cover it very well, so I wound up buying other pics. I’m sure the lady who took our pictures thought I was nuts when I said “I saw this on a friend’s blog and thought it would work for these pictures.” : )
