Not That I Have Any Wrinkles, You Know, But If I Did…

Disclaimer: This post is in no way an admission of having wrinkles OR of being a cheapskate. Just for the record, you know.

So. Wrinkles. They suck. I’m 32, they make my forehead look like I’m 82. Just before we moved, I decided to try my very first wrinkle cream. I hated to spend much on something that probably wouldn’t work, so I bought Wal-fart’s Equate brand Collagen Treatment Wrinkle Reducer.  It was on the shelf next to the L0real brand wrinkle cream and was about $4 cheaper.  (Total price about $11)

It’s only been about two weeks since I first used it and I’m kicking myself in the arse (again) for not taking a before picture.

Yes I realize it still looks like a huge crevice (pronounced crev-ahce since that sounds so much cooler).  However, you should have seen it before. Before it looked like the Grand Canyon, like something you could ride into on a donkey.

So this is what you do. There’s no time to waste. Close up your laptop, put the kids in the car, drive like a bat outta hell to Wal-fart and buy it RIGHT NOW. Don’t delay. Wrinkles really disappear! You want your wrinkles to disappear, don’t you??

Here’s a totally random picture of the snow from my apartamente (again the Spanish twist makes it cooler) window here in Indiana this morning. No it has absolutely nothing to do with wrinkle cream or Hot Mamas Know, but it should distract you from the fact that I may have said something about having wrinkles and being cheap. See…pretty snow….you are forgetting all about Jennifer’s wrinkles and cheap tendencies….

  4. DUDE. I LOVE EQUATE GENERIC FACE STUFF!
I have like, 5 different products and they work just as well as the originals.

Which is good because I think my forehead could kick your forehead’s wrinkled ass. (Can foreheads have asses? Let’s just say so for the sake of flow, ok?)

I was starting to look like a damn Shar Pei meets Droopy Dog.

  6. I totally use this stuff and it does work! The only this is, is that is doesn’t seem to dry completely for quite a while so my face powder likes to cake up where I put it. So now I only use it at night (when I remember), or on the days I am staying at home and don’t have to put my face paint on.

  12. Who says you cant be cheap AND wrinkle free? More power to you. I think I’m going to have to pick some of this up. 1st reason, because you said so. 2nd reason, I have a crevice too. It must be destroyed.

  15. Thanks so much for the heads up! I am 37, and while I don’t have any forehead wrinkles, I do have a gnarly undereye area. I do have some wrinkles there, but I always have. However, the skin texture there is kind of scaly. And puffy. And veiny. And almost bruise-dark most days. I have been telling myself I’ll buy some Clinique eye cream, but maybe this will work for my horrid lower lids?

  25. Does it work for the wrinkles I don’t have by my eyes? The ones I got from being an idiot and squinting in the sun instead of wearing sunglasses most of my life? I mean, wait a minute, I’m not talking about me, I’m talking about someone else.

Funny, 32 seems to be the age we really start worrying about this stuff, huh? At least it is for me. Next paycheck I’m buying some!

P.S. I am so jealous of your snow!

  29. I am so in denial about wrinkles. Ugh. I don’t even want to look too closely at my face. Do you have a product to hide little tiny hairs above the lips? Not that I have any, but you know…just in case…and, not that you have any hair there, but you might know something that works well for that?!? Ugh! Yuck! Gross!

  35. Not that I need it at all, but I may have to pick some up, you know, for the future wrinkles, though I am sure I will age gracefully, like any good southern belle. But just in case they stop making it or something, I think I will hop on over to Wal-fart.

  42. It’s amazing how often such cheap wrinkle creams will work just as good or even better than the expensive ones! There’s one in the UK and Europe at Aldi which costs only 4 dollars, and it was chosen as the best product by many consumer studies :)

  43. I like to make my own wrinkle cream: I use jojoba oil as a base and then add some pure idebenone powder. You can buy it cheap from ebay or bulkactives.com. Would also like to try argan oil as a base, but it’s more expensive.
