Check this out:

".......Add a powerful media voice and a provocative site title to a blog, and it can have extraordinary impact. Bob Garfield, an Advertising Age columnist and National Public Radio host, lit up the blogosphere in October with a site cheekily called ComcastMustDie.com, one of the salvos in what he called his "consumer jihad" against the cable company. After repeated delays with his own service, Garfield, who has hosted a podcast on the site (special guest star Mona "The Hammer Lady" Shaw!), suggested that customers post their account numbers on the blog. Activity on the blog has slowed, but not before dozens of customers followed Garfield's suggestion; many report back, he says, that Comcast called them soon after they posted their account numbers and rants. Garfield can't help but point out the irony. "They've outsourced their worst-case customer-service issues to a blog dedicated to wiping them off the face of the earth."

Marcelo Salup credits Garfield's blog for finally getting Comcast to show up on time when his Internet and cable connections failed. Years of dialing the call center for a technician yielded at least eight missed appointments by Comcast, he says, but a post on ComcastMustDie brought a phone call the next morning and, later, a lead technician who showed up on time. Now, Salup says: "Anytime I have a problem, I also post it on the blog." ....."

I hate cable companies. We flip houses and usually move about once a year. So once a year, the cable company gets to find a new way to fuck me. We are signing the papers today to sell our current home; so i am sure that someone down at the cable office is just sitting there scheming a new way to get under my skin. Additionally, my mail lady leaves me hate mail (regarding complaints about my mailbox) on slips that resemble the type of slip one might get if they got sent to the principal's office in grade school. She is a joykill.

Yeah, I agree with you about the post office. Only add 1 kid for me.

And honestly, mail is the high point of my day. If I couldn't just check it at my door every day, I'd be heartbroken. I say you find the most hideous mailbox you can, put it at your curb, and tell the neighbors that it's just a stop-gap measure until your real mailbox gets there. If they complain, maintain that it's their fault. Deny knowledge of a home owners association.

Cable companies in general SUCK! Thank god for neighbors with unsecured wireless networks though.

Short post office story for you. I got an email from someone that had purchased a book from me on Half.com. They were writing to let me know that the package had arrived very quickly but arrived as an empty envelope with no book inside. :| Apparently the contents of my package had fallen out somewhere along the way and the post office was kind enough to deliver my empty envelop anyway.

There is some USPS person walking around somewhere with a free copy of What to Expect the First Year. Either that or this big honking book jammed up one of their machines. I'll probably get a bill in the mail if that's the case.
