Does Mother Nature Have a Customer Complaint Department?

Hi, Mama Nature.  Jennifer, here…the one in New Town, IN.  The one that used to moan and complain about you and your evil ways in Alabama.  Certainly you remember me.  I’m writing to you to express my deepest irritation at your inability to deliver on Spring here in Indiana.  As I’m SURE you’re aware, Spring arrived March 20.  Here we are on April 10 and the forecast for the next several day is full of teases.  Nobody likes a tease, you see.

It’s supposed to be in the 60’s today and tomorrow, but those warm temperatures are being accompanied by thunderstorms, a most unwelcome guest.  This weekend is actually supposed to be sunny, but COLD.  Your inability to perform your basic job duties is simply unacceptable.

Listen up, Mama, and listen good.  Ella has a closet full of adorable spring/summer dresses and outfits, some of which I’ve had since before she was born, that I’ve yet to even wash because of your inability to deliver on Spring.  I know that if I wash these darling outfits, you won’t send warmer temperatures until June or July.  You’re cruel like that.

My patience is running thin.  All I want is some sun AND warm temperatures at the SAME TIME so that I can dress my daughter up in her new little outfits.  Would it be that hard to let me experience a little joy?

Please deliver on your promise of Spring.

Yours in utter annoyance,

Jennifer and family

Wow , thats a lot of clothes. Do you live near a Carter’s outlet?
I’m not judging, our closet looks the same way, we have a Carters outlet, a Children’s Place outlet, a Gymboree outlet, and an Osh Kosh outlet…its really out of control…

We have the same here in Upstate NY. Except its supposed to be sunny and warm today (while I sit at work) and get yucky tomorrow in time for me to get out of work. Mama Nature sucks!

Well, I live in a neighboring state, so I’m in the same boat. I was thinking it was just payback from wishing fall to cool off last year. I had so many cute fall clothes for my son, and it just kept staying warm when it should be cooler. See this vicious cycle? No fun at all. And all those clothes look adorable!!

Spring hasn’t arrived in Chicago yet either, and for the sake of my own mental health and my maternity wardrobe (read: I need capri weather; my maternity pants are all too stinking uncomfortable), I need some spring now. I reached my breaking point when it snowed again two weeks ago.

Love seeing all the little girl clothes lined up in the closet!

*giggle* Sorry….but that’s Indiana. April is truly the month of April showers and the occasional (but rare) final ice storm of the year (this does usually occur in March…but we had a ‘mild’ March, so I expect it in April).

But once May hits…well, we skip spring and go right into summer. Sorry :D But Summer is good for those outfits too…right? That’s why I leave the summer stuffs in storage until I’m sure the cold is passed…I don’t want to get mad that they can’t wear the cuteness and am surprised by a whole wardrobe I’d forgotten about!

Send that letter for me too from the Top of Utah! I grilled chicken in the snow yesterday.

I gaze at my baby daughter’s 26 spring/summer outfits everyday and then dress her in sweaters and heavy socks and hope her tongue doesn’t stick to any of the metal surfaces in the house. Our outfits are all from Gymboree because Mommy has a little ‘problem’….and I was so excited when I got to spend my gymbucks yesterday! Giddy in fact! I bought swim wear for the kids. While it snowed outside.

See, now, I think Mama Nature is in cahoots with your ovaries and is just trying to make sure you have a lot of adorable, unused, unreturnable clothes that you’ll NEED another baby to be able to wear.

Plus, this makes me glad I don’t have a girl because I’d be DYING to dress her up in all her adorable new girl baby clothes. Awww….so cute.

Snow flurries? In April? It’s wrong and just plain mean. I don’t need 70-80 degree weather yet. But sunshine and 60s…is that too much to ask? We have people who are going to need to go on suicide watch around here soon.

snow in the forecast here in lovely MN. i made the girls do hopscotch outside last night…there’s no way that i’m gonna SHOVEL a spot in the snow on the driveway to do it.

Gawd. I remember having like 2000 outfits for my kids their first 2 summers when they would wear an outfit like ONCE! I loved those days. Now, my kids are all, “Mo-o-om, I don’t have any clean pants/shirts/underwear/etc.” because clothes get more expensive and sizes at one store are not the same at another store and taking a 5 and 6 year old boys shopping sounds worse than gnawing my own arm off and the little buggers actually have an OPINION about what they wear these days.
