Mushy cereal
Ick. Ick. Ick. Must be crunchy.
I love Frosted Flakes.
It’s time for another controversial post, don’t you think. It’s been awhile since we discussed toilet paper direction or coke and peanuts, so I felt like it was time to spice things up a bit around here…and make the world a slightly better place tackling a very important subject…
Cereal.
I cannot STAND mushy cereal. Blech. After many, many mornings of having allowed my cereal to become mush during an extended soaking in milk due to having to feed my children, I’ve finally learned to wait to pour milk on my cereal until they are both settled and eating. This means they both have food in front of them, drinks in front of them, bibs secured, toys out of sight, refills of milk and apple juice within arm’s reach, and a shot of tequila just in case. (I’m totally kidding about the tequila. Sheesh, everyone knows you start the morning off with mimosas or screwdrivers or little Bailey’s/Kahlua/Irish whiskey in your coffee. DUH.)
So mushy cereal. It disgusts me, I much prefer my cereal to be crunchy and therefore delicious. I know there are some people out there who purposely let their cereal sit in milk and ALLOW it become MUSHY. *shudders in horror*
What side of the fence are you on? Mushy? Or are you awesome like me and prefer crunchy cereal? While we’re at it, tell me your ALL TIME favorite cereal, sugarbombs be damned!
Remember my comment policy…be nice. I mean, it’s JUST cereal we’re discussing today. It’s not like I’m asking you to discuss Obama/Hillary/McCain.
To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:
1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What’s a haiku, you ask? Click here.
2. Sign the Mister Linky below with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your generic blog URL). We will delete your link if it doesn’t go to a haiku. If you need help with this, contact Christina or myself. REMEMBER…ONLY sign Mr. Linky if you have a HAIKU POST.
3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button above.

Here’s my current favorite cereal creation: I go to the health food cereal section and purchase Peanut Butter Bumpers and Koala Crisp (which is chocolate flavored). I go home and pour an ungodly amount of both cereals in the bowl together, add milk, mix and enjoy.
It’s like eating Reese’s peanut butter cup. And it’s from the health food section, so it’s GOOD for you.
And btw, crunchy cereal all the way.

Wait. Really?
REALLY???
There are actually people out there who wait for it to get MUSHY before they eat it?
R-E-A To The L-L-Y!?!?
Damn.
I have a really, really hard time picking favorites.
But if you force me, I go unconventional and I shove my plain yogurt with granola mixed in right up in yo face.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..

Crunchy all the way! I actually would have a hard time eating it mushy.
I can’t think of a cereal that I don’t like, but picking a favorite is hard. Somewhere between Grape Nuts (yummy) and Peanut Butter Captain Crunch (yummy), but really, whatever is on sale because full price has gotten kind of stupid.
I like crunchy cereal, but I’ve always been a slow eater, even more so now with more sensitive teeth and the whole cold milk on cereal thing, so by the time I finish, my cereal is usually just starting to point in the mushy direction. Thankfully, I manage to finish before it actually gets too far or all the way there. It’s a fine line, that halfway point, but I walk it because I’m talented like that.

Crunchy! Kellog’s makes raisin bran that stays crunchy and tastes of cinnamon. Heart Smart something or other. Yum!

OK…so I like my cereal mushy, with fruit in it (any kind will do) What can I say….I live on the edge!
It’s got to be teh crunchy. If you want mush eat oatmeal.
I must pour some sugar on this post, cause to many of ya’ll are liking the healthy stuff..not that there’s anything wrong with that. I myself am a Lucky Charms(usually the knock off) kinda girl.

Cocoa Krispies. Hands down.

Yuck! Mushy cereal makes me gag. That is why I usually never buy any flake type cereal. It usually gets soggy faster. The best? Well Crunch Berries of course! Those suckers stay crunchy for hours! (hence the name..)

Crunchy cereal–of course! Crunchy Golden Grahams are the best, but I rarely buy them as whenever I do, I end up eating the entire box in two days. No self control.
mep’s last blog post..That’s what she said.
I despise mushy cereal- so much so that I have been known to start with a bowl of milk and pour my cereal in little by little and eat it while it is still super crunchy. But this is only when my OCD has really kicked in and they let me out of my straight jacket for breakfast!!
A few of my all time favorite childhood cereals are Golden Grahams, Cookie Crisp and Frosted Flakes but these days I usually stick to Fiber One Honey Clusters or Kashi Go Lean (super crunchy- mmm!)

I literally shudder when the kid intentionally lets her cereal go mushy. Who the hell eats mushy Cinnamon Toast Crunch? My kid, that’s who. I guess just so long as she doesn’t go ruining my Lucky Charms, we can still be friends.

I don’t really care either way. I prefer it crunchy, but if it’s become mushy, I’ll certainly eat it. I’m not cereal prejudiced, like some people.
My favorite? Vanilla Frosted Mini Wheats…yum.

I am a wierdo. I like it mushy. I don’t usually let it get that way on purpose unless it’s something esp crunchy like granola. Right now I am on a Honey Nut Cheerios kick, but my official fave is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I also love Cocoa Krispies (cuz they make the milk all chocolate-y) and Captain Crunch- but no Crunchberries please. I do not enjoy any fruit-type object near my cereal bowl. I can’t buy the kiddie ones that I really love because I have no self control.
Katie’s last blog post..There are no words….
I’m all about the crunchy. I put just enough milk on the bowl to make it wet and that’s it. And I can’t pick a favorite – that’s like telling me to pick a favorite kid.

I am a frosted mini wheat kind of girl. It is great when it is crunchy. But if I end up helping the kids with something, it gets soggy quickly. Then I just can’t eat it!

Ugh…I DESPISE soggy cereal! I won’t eat it! In fact I rarely eat cereal for a multitude of reasons…but one of them is the fact that you simply can’t eat a bowl of cereal before some of it gets mushy!!
But when I do eat it I like Life Cereal…and then Special K or Rice Crispies (with generous spoonfuls of sugar sprinkled over).

CRUNCHY. Yes – that required all caps. I get mine post-feeding the wolves. Pour the milk at the last minute possible and eat it as fast as I can.

I abhor mushy cereal. It either has to be crunchy, or it has to be intentionally mushy, like oatmeal.

I don’t even like it to get mushy in a bowl that I have to wash. It grosses me out to even look at it.
I like Frosted Mini Wheats, which become extremely vile when you let them get mushy.

I had to learn to wait on the milk too.
My favorite is sugar cereal: Cap n Crunch brand or Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Yum.

My fave cereal is Quaker Oar Squares. They are the best! I eat them right out of the box as a snack…half the time they don’t make it to a bowl.

CRUNCHY. In fact, what I do is I pour a bowl of milk. Then I sprinkle in a bite or two’s worth of cereal. Then I eat the cereal. Then I sprinkle in a little more.

I would love to say that I am a Cheerios or Kashi girl. Make you all think I’m a super svelte health-hut. But really? I do love me some Lucky Charms. There I said it. And I have been known to sneak just the marshmallows from the box from time to time. And no, my kids have never had them. I keep them for myself. How cool am I?
And I’m a big believer that the milk doesn’t touch the cereal until the absolute last second, when you are sitting down and you already have your spoon in hand. Mush is gross.

If cereal was meant to be mushy, wouldn’t it come in a can? Mushy cereal=blehhh. No favorite. Pretty much like anything cereal related.
Kashi Crunch does not get soggy, At least not in a reasonable time frame. I buy it just for that reason, cause no matter how prepare I couldn’t seem to eat get to my bowl before it turns to mush. I think they should make a commerical for Kashi based on that. “Kashi Crunch never mushy. Great for moms everywhere”

i’m currently hooked on special k chocolate – a CHOCOLATE cereal from SPECIAL K! (it must be good for me, right?)
i like crunchy, too, but i do enjoy my grapenuts mushy. i nuke em for a minute for a warm oatmeal-like breakfast since it’s always so freakin COLD in ny!

I’ve given up on cereal altogether since regardless of when I pour it, Emma always inevitably interupts me, causing mushy cereal, which is disgusting.

I prefer crunchy cereal, fo sho.
Right now I am addicted to Peace Cereals — either the Vanilla Almond or Maple Pecan flavors. Flakes + nuts + granola = yum yum.
(You can even get the Maple Pecan flavor on Amazon, you don’t have to have crunchy grocery stores like I do to get em!)
