Help Keep My Family in Indiana

Haiku Friday

A fun-filled weekend
On Saturday, an auction
Sunday, Prophetstown

Thanks to that good-for-nothing Mother Nature, the weather in Indiana is FINALLY supposed to be warm(er) and sunny this weekend. This is a good thing because if the weather was cold, dreary, windy, and miserable like it was last weekend, I was going to be forced to pack up the family and head back to Alabama.

(I’m TOTALLY kidding about that. Going back to Alabama! That is cuh-razy talk.)

(ha.) (HAAA, HAA, HAAAA.) (CRAZY talk.) (HA!)

So anyhoo, what plans are on your docket for the weekend? What does your family do for fun? I’d really like to know so that in the event that Mother Nature screws my eyeballs out and wrecks the weekend, I could possibly have some ideas for alternatives so that we don’t end up back in Alabama.

To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:
1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What’s a haiku, you ask? Click here.

2. Sign the Mister Linky below with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your generic blog URL). We will delete your link if it doesn’t go to a haiku. If you need help with this, contact Christina or myself. REMEMBER…ONLY sign Mr. Linky if you have a HAIKU POST.

3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button above.

I’m no help, we live in FL so most of our activities take place outdoors.
This weekend, we’re going to visit a horse sanctuary that takes in retired horses and also rescued dogs. Then Sunday, we’re going to a Spring Festival in our little town.

Hopefully the weather stays nice for you. We’ll probably do soccer and then maybe a movie? Shopping would be nice too, but with my boys…. maybe not.

I hope the weather is gorgeous for you. We had sunny and 70’s last weekend with possible snow this weekend, but my only plan is a celebratory cocktail or five. I suppose that’s not a family activity, though it can be done either indoors or outside, regardless of weather.

    Staying home is what
I do on the weekends these
days … Of course the beach

    is just a short walk
for Molly and I if we
    choose to ‘get away’

    for a little while.
Sunday my Red Hat group has
    tickets for ‘Gypsy’

    Sorry I’m no help …
Hope the weather ‘holds’ and you
    all have a grand time!!!

    Hugs and blessings,

No plans yet this weekend. I forsee lots of time outside if it doesn’t rain. We like doing work in the yard and garden on the nice weekends this time of year.

I was going to ask what you thought of the earthquake too, but I see someone beat me to it. Betcha didn’t think you’d have to deal with that when moving to IN! Some people felt it here too, but I slept through it.

ooh I hope the weather is nice for you! We usually do low-cost things like going to the park as a family, taking walks to feed the ducks etc if it’s nice weather.

If not it’s time for playing with the building blocks, letting the toddler have a go on mariokart and other games on the ‘Big TV’ with his daddy and reading together. If I’m feeling adventurous (read willing to clean up more mess than usual) we’ll do some painting or baking of some sort… all in between my blog reading of course ;)

We always look for parks, anything to do outside. Especially near water… grass and trees are good.

Picnics rock and laying on your back on a blankie is heaven. Then again, so is chasing a toddler through tickly grass. :-)

    Man, I love Spring!

Shush! It’s supposed to snow here this weekend. Grr!

As for plans, Elliot is attending a birthday party at a place called The Princess Palace and I’m going out for dinner with my parents. As for family fun, you know what we did last weekend? Went to the oldest cemetery in town and took pictures of gravestones. I know it sounds weird, but the pictures turned out beautifully. Okay, yes, it is weird.

I’ve heard rumor that it’s supposed to be nice here this weekend too. Which is great since I woke up to snow again yesterday. Freaking spring. Let’s see….my weekend is a bit nuts. I’m going to meet Bossy tonight along with some other peeps. Picking up my Mama at the airport tomorrow and then heading to a birthday dinner that I’m throwing for myself. Oh and cleaning somewhere in there.

Ideas for you….um a picnic? It’s hard to think, cause your kids are younger than my nieces are now and what we do, won’t really work for you yet. Is there a zoo out there? That might be cool.

We’re having a beautiful week, although it’s supposed to get a smidge cooler and rainy this weekend. I guess I can’t be greedy! I don’t know what part of Indiana you live in, but I was wondering if you felt the earthquake. I live in central Ohio, and I swear the news is acting like it was THE END OF THE WORLD! My oldest lives in Champaign, IL, though, and it woke them up. He said it was really weird to have the whole house shaking! I know my sister in Indianapolis was woken by it…that made me think of you since you’re in Indiana. Have a great weekend. Our plan is to GET BETTER…I am so. tired. of. being. sick., not to mention DH being sick! lol.

We just moved up to Philly from N. FL, so we know what you mean! We’re having a bit of a heat wave here right now, though. High of 82 here today. That’s a bit much for here for May, you know?

But, we are loving getting outside finally! We’re at parks every day now.

Let’s see, this weekend… Play date on Saturday… Church on Sunday…That’s all I know so far. Laundry when hell freezes over. And trying to kick my husband out of the house so he can truly get some studying done for final exams (law school), instead of “studying” while my son, Jude, chases him around the house.

    Have a good one!
