Playgrounds outside for some reason don’t scream GERMS like the ones in say Chuck E Cheese to me. I am of the mind that the rain and nice hot sun sterilize playgrounds. However, they are dirty and require a bath afterwards.
We get germy at the park every day that it’s nice enough. I tell myself I’m building up my toddler’s germ resistance. I even let him play in the sandbox at the park. Fresh air has to be good for kids, even if there are germs too, right?
I’m like Karen that I can do the outside playgrounds, but have such a hard time with, say, the disgusting one at the mall! The kids ALWAYS seem to get sick after that one! Yep. Rain and sun. That’s a good sanitizer – as is Germ X.
One of the best feelings is watching all the dirt dissolve off of the girls in the tub after a long day at softball, riding bikes, and playground time. Ahhhh, bliss.
Dude, I don’t even think about germs ever not even once associated with out door equipment in the 3+ years I’ve been parenting . My mind boggles at all the extra effort germ-o-phobes have to go through purelling and germ xing stuff.
That being said….EW. My girls can play AROUND the equipment, but not in or on. Thankfully I have the defense of “K can get up, but not down” on my side still!! *G*
Yeah, I had to go up and rescue BusterBrown out of one of the hamster tunnels at Mickey D’s. I climbed up there, looked around, and vowed to hose us both down once we were out of there.
I don’t know what it is about kid anything, but whenever I am in areas with high concentration of them, I have the urge to spray myself down with Lysol every few feet.
He is so freaking adorable! What a fantastic picture.
And I always wipe mine off with Wet Ones whenever we leave anywhere – playgrounds, libraries, school, playdates, you name it. But to balance it out I never mop my floors.
I'm Jennifer, Mom to Carson, 4, and Ella, 2. Wife and bossaholic to my sugar daddy, Tate. I can eat my weight in nachos. On a related note, I wear Spanx.

Eh, germs only do so much damage. Germ-x rocks though. It makes me feel better even if we’re making a “supergerm”.
