Cake!

It has been SIX WHOLE DAYS since Ella’s first birthday and I haven’t posted even ONE cake eating extravaganza picture.   And I call myself a mommyblogger.    I should be put on probation!

(My inner Martha Stewart feels that I must explain this ugly cake. Pardon my inability to remain silent for Wordless Wednesday. I’m baking and decorating a luau themed cake with real buttercream icing for her birthday party this weekend. I opted to use shhhhhcanned frostingshhhhh and sprinkles for her on-her-birthday birthday cake. I feel better getting that off my chest.) (Would also feel better if I could scrape the remains of all this cake I’ve eaten off my ass.)

[picture removed]

I dunno about this headband, Mom.  I look stupid.

No you don’t!  You look precious.  Leave it on so Mommy can get pictures!  I’ll give you caaaake!

[picture removed]

Hmmm? Cake, you say?

[picture removed]

Can’t.  Talk.  Eating.  Nom, nom, nom. Munch, munch, munch.  Cake GOOD.

High five for cake!

She is just so darn cute! Love the cake eating pictures. And smart move on the pink. For my son’s first birthday, we went with red. I’m not even going to tell you what the bathwater looked like… For my daughter? Mostly white icing. At least I learn from my mistakes….

I was starting to wonder what happened…
Those pics are puh-reh-shus :-) Precious Jennifer.
    She’s so darling.
I do the ‘fake’ cakes when we travel to his family for b-days for the kids and homemade cakes & icing for the ‘real deal’ so you aren’t alone.
Can’t wait to see the luau cake!!

That last pic is particularly awesome. Mmmmm cake. I’m impressed that you do a fancy cake. I recently bought a cake MIX from Whole Foods to do a Just Because cake with the girls. At least the sprinkles are gluten-free. WTF?

They requested Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup for the frosting. A frantic babysitter found only that available last week while decorating a Mother’s Day party cake that they tried. According to them, it’s now the best. frosting. ever.

    Um…

Do they carry that crown in grown up sizes?

Because, um, I sort of want one.

(I also want a tutu, but I think that is merely a reflection of how much I WANT A FREAKING GIRL TO SPRING FROM MY LOINS ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I swear I just ovulated looking at those photos. I miss my babies being, well babies instead of hope sucking teenagers.

And lets not talk about the nine year old, or I will be forced to remember that I sent him to his room.

But a bay-bee, a sweet little Ella of my own… wonder if my husband would be happy to forgo eating for a few months so we could afford the neuter reversal?

Cake eating photos are the best!

Big fan of the funky shape cakes – made the dog cupcakes out of the Parent’s magazine (feb issue) for my daughter’s birthday. PAIN IN THE A******** – but oh, so cute!

That cake looks pretty dang good me to (curse this diet I’m on! Er!) And the pink head band – love it! Ah, I miss having baby girls.

I’m not very domestic but I am determined to make a baseball cake (yes, actually shaped like a huge baseball) for my son’s 1st birthday party next month, which will be (how’d you guess?) baseball themed. My husband is doubtful but I’m determined to prove him wrong about my lack of culinary skills. Even it takes me several trial runs! We WILL have a baseball cake if it kills me! With real buttercream icing to boot, as well! I know, I know… highly ambitious.
