When we moved here, many moons ago, we had our phones connected before we moved in. I asked the very nice guy about running a second line to the back of the house for our office (this was ancient years ago when we were using dial-up). He asked if it was something my husband could do if he had the materials for it. When I said yes, he said he'd hook us up. He came back the next day and left enough line to run around the house...for free. He said he'd have to charge if he did it, but he was happy to leave the stuff for us to do the work. When I asked if there was anything I could get for him, he just wanted me to fill his travel cup with ice. I offered to fill it with Pepsi or something, but he already had something in the truck and just wanted ice. And he was so kind the whole time he was here. So, I suppose the few repair people that are kind and considerate help us call them back and risk getting a bad one next time.
