Too Dorothy?

Brutally Honest Mondays” border=

Okay, I bought these shoes on Friday and adored them at the time.  They are red, YES!  But, they aren’t too lady-of-the-night red or Dorothy there’s-no-place-like-home red.  I also thought the detailing on the shoes was especially cute.  Now though, I still LOVE them, but I’m kinda worried that when I wear them people are going to notice ONLY my shoes and not my winning personality and witty conversational skills.

These shoes were bought on the intention of wearing them to this little conference I’m attending next week, where I *might* meet some other women who I would like to impress.  I don’t want to overhear anyone say, “Oh my, poor girl!  Did you SEE her shoes?!  What WAS she thinking?!”

I plan on wearing these shoes with dark wash jeans and a either black or brown shirts.   Stacy and Clinton tell people that it’s okay to add a punch of color with THEIR shoes.   Can I?  Should I?

Please be honest…Yay or nay on the shoes?

PS.  I bought these shoes at Payless…does that make a difference?

As a proud owner of 3 red shoes, I am all for them. They are really cute! I think every Cosmo gal needs a pair of red shoes. They tend to make you walk a bit differently. You’ll be strutting in no time!

Definately Dorothy Red…but in a good way. Lady of the night would be if they were stillettos. I think I just botched that word up.

I love those shoes and may make a trip to payless for my own. I always notice people’s shoes. If they have cute shoes that usually means they are worth getting to know. A little superficial I know.

I LOVE THOSE SHOES. And they will now allow the rest of us to find you at BlogHer, kind of like holding a rose on a blind date.

I bought a cute pair of black slip ons with white polka dots today at Target, for that very same little conference. We’re gonna rock the shoes, baby!

I love red in every way – shoes included. And since I have admitted that AND I happen to live in the land of Dorothy, I can say with great authority that they are not too road-to-oz at all. For that they would have to be covered in glitter.

DO YOU REALIZE THERE ARE ABOUT 15 OF US WEARING THESE SHOES TO BLOGHER????

I posted about it and then laughed my ass off from the comments and people emailing me.

We should TOTALLY organize a “Wear your red payless shoes to this session/cocktail party/keynote speaker” event.

    Love them!

I own last year’s red flats from Payless. Very similar, no pleats around the toe. Very wearable too. I have worn then with white capris, kahkis, jeans… And now I’m stalking these ones in black.

I am a Payless junkie. I am convinced that one day I will be a very successful woman with the world’s largest collection of shoes from Target and Payless.

Please tell me you know you can get 10% off if you have AAA!

They are cute and not too Dorothy. Just don’t pair them with something too crazy colourwise, and the red will make your outfit pop, as Stacy and Clinton would say.

So your outfit sounds cute. :)

I saw a girl yesterday in great dark blue bootleg jeans, with THE CUTEST dark red patent leather heels. I *totally* wanted them. I thought they looked great with the jeans. Of course I’d look ridiculous in the same outfit -because well she was like a size minus 4 with size 5 feet, and I’m a size, well never mind, but I wear a size 10 ladies shoe – and well they’re not as cute in such great shoes. But I think yours are pretty cute too – but I would have preferred a bit of a heel – although I realise that you’re going to be standing around ‘chatting’ at your conference – so these are probably a more sensible choice :)

As the 96 people before me, I think you should keep them, wear them, rock them and then send them to me when you’re done with them. And if you ever want a really good place to shop for shoes, come visit me, because Israel is the land of shoes, not the land of milk and honey as previously advertised.
