I was SO into the Bachelor/Bachelorette for the first few seasons, but know it just looks like glorified pimping. Now they're really not much better than the MTV reality "dating" shows. As for Sheer Genius, I watched it last year and it can be addictive. Stay away from the marathons where they show you several episodes in a row. It's like a train wreck- you just can't stop watching. I have one for you that is even worse- Groomer Has It- where dog groomers duke it out. The first episode was cute until they actually started to take themselves seriously. Yeah, choreographed dances are a big wedding trend. If you check out YouTube there are some pretty good ones and some so-so ones. We looked into lessons for ours, but they were too much moola, so yes hold and sway for us. And you don't need to get divorced...just do what my guy and are doing...vow renewal *cough* party *ahem* every ten years. We absolutely did NOT dance to Wonderful Tonight. But it is a rocking song.

I wanted to be different. We picked a Rod Stewart song. See, so original.

Actually it was “For the First Time.” THAT is a LONG ASS SONG. Over 4 minutes. What was I thinking?

And I didn’t want to sway, so I convinced DHtobe that we should take a session of dance classes. We got a choreographed routine. Although there was a little misunderstanding at first with the instructor. At first she thought we should start across the room from each other. But I laid down the law and explained my intentions. In other words, please do not make us look like ice-skater wannabes, just whip something up for us that we can do and everyone will be tricked into thinking we can actually dance and have a natural grace and presence. That worked just fine and we were smart enough not to mess it up with too much “freestyle” dancing later.

Could we do that routine today, 8 years later – not on your life! But it was $ well spent to feel so graceful on That One Day. And I always have the video (yes pre DVD days).

Another one who took dance lessons! We took two private lessons and did a pretty rocking swing number to Frank Sinatra “Love is Here to Stay.” We remember a few of our moves and still bust them out occassionally. I have no style and my hubby has no rhythm so it took a fair amount of effort!

I am a diehard Bachelor junkie, I admit it. She picked the wrong dude fo sho. Jason is a doll. Snowboarder is young…

My husband and I failed out of dance class. We did a little sway, sway, twirl to “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole. We never use our dusty breadmaker or ice cream maker we registered for. I would love new dishes too~!

I never watched The Bachelorette . . .I'd rather dispense with all class and intelligence and watch things like Rock of Love. Ahem. Shear Genius I watch, just until I can get my real fixes of Top Chef and/or Project Runway. If you get remarried and do the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun dance, can I come? I'll buy you a cool gift. I totally got sucked into the final Bachelorette episode as well. And I agree that Jesse is O.T.A. Out.There.Alone. He & Deanna needed to get a room on that aftershow. I haven't seen the other 2 shows you mentioned, but you should check out Flipping Out with everyone's favorite wacko, Jeff Lewis. He's hilarious! Angies last blog post..What to do?
