WOW! 123 comments. You must be completely overwhelmed with suggestions. If you ever run out, my list is on my blogger profile.

Sound of Music ROCKS. We just watched part of it today - Frannie got it for her 3rd birthday and is completely sucked in to all the singing and drama and love (altho she may not get the 3rd Reich subplot). Meanwhile, my HUSBAND is watching it for the FIRST TIME with her! Win, Win! Next stop: Oklahoma! (I'm a musical junkie. Shhh.)

Oh wow, I can't imagine life without SOM. Although my favorite cheesy musicals are actually Oklahoma and On The Town. You should try those.

I've missed a lot of movies since 2004 but I am queen of the TV and I recommend: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Friday Night Lights (I've never seen the movie it's based on, though), Homicide: Life On The Street and Entourage.

Oh, that is one of my favorite movies EVER. I'd offer you movie suggestions, but I've never seen Star Wars, so perhaps I'm not a good barometer for these types of things.

Oh, yes, the hills are alive with the sound of hottie Captain Von Trap. But don't worry, you wouldn't have appreciated his dreaminess as a child, just Fraulein's ugly-cool dresses.

Lost is a must. And you have plenty of time to catch up for February's season-five premiere.

I grew up watching old movies and musicals with my parents. We’d sit around the tv singing all the songs together. All my friends used to tease me that I grew up in the 1950’s.
LOVE The Sound of Music!!!!

I've never seen SOM from beginning to end, but I saw a good part of it the other day. My poor hubs - it's one of his all-time faves.

To cover myself here: My mom was uber controlling when it came to what I could watch growing up. (I know, SOM seems tame, but she was scared of the flying monkeys in "The Wizard of Oz," so I didn't see it until I was much older!)

I never saw "Terms of Endearment" from start to finish until a few years ago either. Wow, adult life has made up for lost time!

My daughter loves SOM. I do too. Couldn't stand it as a kid myself, but now I love it. It taught her the basics of music. Can't go wrong with that. She can sing all the songs.
