What a great picture that is. My worst treat ever was probably the raisins. I hated it when I would get raisins. My favorite candies are probably Sour Patch Kids, Hot Tamales and Dots. I also like Yorks but not a lot of people give those out.

One of my absolute faves is 100 Grand bars…unfortunately, I didn’t score this year. Between 3 kids, I only got two mini-bars.

    100 Grand bars.

Sadly, we don’t have them in Canada–I discovered them in the Detroit airport last year and LOVE them. I have to go over the bridge to get them; at least it’s only a 15 minute drive for me.

I hated getting raisins. Our kids once got a little paper bag of Cheerios, raisins and Smarties all thrown in loose. Needless to say that went in the trash.

As everyone before me has said, What a fantastic picture!!

    I love it.

Worst thing given: a dime. We had a neighbor who gave us a dime every year. WTF? All you could buy with a dime was… A PIECE OF CANDY from the gumball machine.

Favorite candy: hm. Reese’s Peanut Butter cups OR Smarties.

Happy Day o’ the Dead (as it’s now Nov 1st)!

The worst was a flyer announcing the coming of Satan. That was a fun night.

The best candy to steal from your kids’ bags is hands down Reeces Peanut Butter Cups. Peanut M&Ms make a close second.

Just for the record, I did not get even ONE lousy 100 Grand Bar…But! I cannot believe I failed to mention my love of Milk Duds, which I received 2 boxes. Just the right amount to enjoy and not gain 56 pounds!

I LOVE that photo! You’ve got that DSLR down!

Would you believe, we did not get ONE good candy bar out of two bags of “goodies”? What happened to the reese’s, the kit-kats, the snickers?

All we got was dum-dums and tootsie rolls. Which I ate anyway, dammit.

I love 100 grands and reece’s too! My son is allergic to peanuts, so we can’t have Reece’s anymore. :(
There’s always someone who give out raisins! I hate that.

    Aww, cute costumes.

My favorite candy is about anything chocolate: Snickers, 110 Grands, KitKats, etc.

I remember getting pencils and erasers from a neighbor growing up. Ugh, nice thought, but not what a kid really wants.

    Anything chocolate gets my votes.
This is the one day of the year I wish I could rent a kid so I can ‘sample’ their candy for quality assurance.

My favorite – Almond Joy. Luckily, most kids think Almond Joys have a low value, so I used to get some good deals in the great candy trade-off.

When I was 9, my friend dared me to go trick or treating at the “spooky” house on the street — you know, peeling paint, gnarled old lady, weird smell, all the basics. I did it (it was still a better option, believe it or not, than having to tell her the truth about the who I currently was in love with.) and when I rang the bell, the old lady came outside and dropped something unidentified into my bag. When I got home later and dumped out my bootie on the floor, I saw, mixed in with the Zagnet bars and Mallow Cups, a TEA BAG. She gave me a freaking tea bag!! My friend and I laughed until she peed her pants and I still don’t drink tea.

@Anne A tea bag?!?! What an odd thing to give to a kid.
