You got farther than I did. I think I got to 250 or something like that. I just couldn't finish. But I DID take my 12 year old to the movie premier (they didn't have school the next day) and the theatre was PACKED with middle & high schoolers. It was a fun experience. Oh interesting! Let us know how you ended up liking the book/series. It's on my wishlist, and I assumed I'd love it from all the hype. (I bought into the Harry Potter hype late-ish in the game and loved it, so history shows...) Although I have heard that the movie wasn't so great. I had no desire to read it, but because there was such hubbub and I have an avid reader for a teen, I picked up Twilight. I don't think this series is for everyone. Just like the Harry Potter series...some people look at that one and go, "I don't get it." Which is cool. Not everyone has to like every book. I am not a fan of Twilight (book 1). I wanted to like the story, but didn't. There was a lot in it I found completely disturbing (especially as a parent of a teen). My teen and I have now had LONG discussions about healthy relationships. Yet, I was oddly compelled to keep reading. But when I finished, I wasn't going to read any of the other books. My writing partner pushed me to read New Moon because I write Young Adult, and this is Young Adult, so it was market study. Reluctantly, I picked up book 2. I am hooked. HOOKED. There comes a point in book 2 where Bella does something INSANE, and I couldn't put it down. Meyer's writing had matrued, as had the story, and she captured gut-wrenching heartbreak exquisitely. happily we already have all the books of the series… Vic’s been glued to eat… finishing the 3rd book for the 2nd time!!!
