This is the boy I love the most

When Tate and I were dating, we were totally, disgustingly in love.   Once at a restaurant while waiting for a table at the bar, we must have been gazing longingly at one another over our draft beers.  A random guy walked up to us and said, “It’s pretty clear you two are in love.”

It’s not like that anymore and that’s okay.  I don’t think that level of gushiness is possible once you’re passed the initial drunken stages of love.

In those early days of our romance, we used to make up songs to sing to each other.  I’d forgotten all about this song and wanted to write it down because I don’t want to ever forget about it again.

This is the boy I love the most
He’s even better than a juicy rump roast
He’s the hottest boy from coast to coast!
Yes, this is the boy I love-a the most!

This is the girl I love the most
She’s even better than a piece of old burned up toast
She’s the hottest girl from coast to coast!
Yes, this is the girl I love-a the most!

I know.  It’s so beautiful, you probably don’t even know what to say.

You clearly have a future in song writing. And, hey, you’re in the right state. Screw blogging!!!

And Jeff and I were like that too. Disgusting, googly eyed, lovey-dovey messes. Oh, the good old days.

When the hubs and I were ga ga in love we would see who could send the largest kilobytes of e-mail, mainly just filled up with blah blah I love you. Fun times when e-mail was all the rage.
    Great song btw, very catchy.

OMG – that’s really funny. Kinda glad you’re not THAT corny and sappy anymore…I think some of your readers would be throwing up (knot) instead of snarfing coffee out their noses. Personally, I prefer snarfing over throwing up.

I love it! My husband and I were rewarded with a rare night out this weekend and it was nice to be reminded of those giddy-in-love times.

You two are all sorts of awesome.

I’d love to hear the tune that goes with it…and chance we could hear you sing?

    ;)

    That is completely fantastic.

I’m jealous that you can sing to the person that you love without making their ears bleed. Especially songs that are so brilliantly crafted.

Oh, I really miss being disgustingly in love with my husband. You know, now I am just married in love with him. Which is fine. I read once that that gushy smooshy love only biologically lasts about two years. After that, I guess evolution deems that you are probably bonded by debt or children (or children AND debt) and you no longer need the nice hormones of lurvvvve to keep you together.

But I miss the hormones, sometimes. :)

Oh dear. There is actual cheese pouring out of my laptop at the cheesiness of that song.
No, but really it’s cute. I remember practicing our wedding kiss “No your lip should be on the bottom, silly!” in the backseat of my parents car on our way to a family dinner one night. My parents were probably gagging in the front seat.

    I think that is adorable!

Maybe you should sing that to Tate when he gets home from work and see if he remembers it? He should then be rewarded or punished justly, of course…
