“Mmm,” crunched Tate from the pantry. “This Cinnamon Life is delicious!” I could hear him munching on his nightly before bed snack.
“You HAVE had Cinnamon Life cereal before, right?” I asked, rhetorically, or so I thought.
“No,” he said, “I never had this cereal before.”
And I thought that he had such a normal family life growing up. Maybe I don’t really know Tate at all.
First he’d never had Ovaltine (which many of you hadn’t either, to which I say, WEIRDOS), but to have never had Cinnamon Life cereal?? I don’t even think it’s possible, not if you are a child of the early 80′s who grew up watching Life cereal commercials where Mikey liked it. He really, really liked it!
PLEASE, for the love of Mikey, tell me that you’ve had Cinnamon Life Cereal, or ANY Life cereal. PLEASE.
I’ve had Maple Brown Sugar (I think that’s what it is anyway) Life, but not Cinnamon. Mmm. Cereal.

But I thought it was a new thing – I don’t remember having it as a kid. I think they only had regular Life then? I did grow up with Mikey!

Mmmmmmm, Life. Best cereal ever. My mom would always get that for her, and we weren’t allowed to have any except for once in a blue moon. Usually after my brother had eaten all of our one box of sugary cereal (usually Lucky Charms) and I only got one bowl and so my mom felt sorry for me.
That was always the best tasting bowl of cereal too, usually eaten in front of my brother with all the joyful sounds that big sisters make to little brothers when teasing them.

Another weirdo here. I’ve never had Ovaltine or any kind of Life cereal. We stuck to Quick and Hershey’s syrup for any chocolate and milk like drinks. For cereal it was all about the Lucky Charms, BooBerry, Fruit Loops and Rice Krispies. And I had Pops for the first time when my daughter fed me some of her leftover snack from day care.

We love the Cinnamon Life here-when it comes into the house it is normally gone within a day or two. It becomes snacks, and replacement meals for the girls & hubby, as well as still being breakfast.

Life cereal is Yummy!!! I didn’t really know who Mikey was until I grew up since we didn’t have a TV. But my mom always got us the more “healthy” cereals and this was one of them! Not a huge fan of the cinnamon flavor though.

Actually, I have eaten Cinnamon Life, but I’ve never seen an episode of M*A*S*H or Gilligan’s Island. My husband thinks I grew up under a rock.
My grandparents always had Life cereal on their fridge. When my sister and I would go visit it was one of the things we looked forward to most. I can still remember sitting at the teeny kitchen table eating Life cereal and listening to their bird. I am totally buying a box next trip to the store, in honor of my grandparents. Thank you for helping me remember that!

Hmmm. Let me think… I remember the ads… I remember the GAME of Life… I’m pretty sure we ate regular Life… but cinnamon Life? not so sure. On the up side, both hubby and I ate (and hated) Bisquick and Shake and Bake chicken. And LOVED yodels. Ahh, the Power of Small!

Born in 1981 and I’ve never had any version of Life cereal. My mom wouldn’t buy name brand cereal when we were growing up because it was too expensive, and now I just really don’t like any cereal. Sorry, I guess I’m on Tate’s team for this one. PS-I’ve never had Ovaltine either.

I was just about to ask good ol’ mother-in-law what kind of sadist she was as a mom when Tate was growing up, then I remembered my mom never gave me Life cereal either. And that I’d like Tate’s mom to adopt me as a daughter-in-law.
