Sounds like Febreeze won't help lol I'd definately try dry cleaning if you really want to keep it but, like some other people suggested, this may have just been the excuse you weren't looking for to toss it out.

Haha! Funny.

I'm throwing away everything in my house these days, so I say toss it. Time even for another errand is probably in short supply for...her.

You did look lovely in it.

So, what did your friend decide? And my, that is a coincidence, both of your sisters-in-law picking the same dress ;) BTW, I personally think the dress is gorgeous and doesn't scream "bridesmaid!", and I'd at least try to get it cleaned, after hanging it out in the sun for a couple of days and rinsing it if possible.

You look so pretty in that dress. It is very figure-flattering on you. Oh, and you have a pretty handsome dancing partner in that picture too!

It looks like a dress that you...err...your friend...could wear again, so I would throw the bag in the back yard for a couple hours (as wide open as possible, and away from a spot accessible to neighborhood dogs!) to air out a little, and then (with a face mask, perhaps, and dish gloves) pull the dress out & HOSE IT DOWN. After all the *ahem* chunks are gone, put it in a clean bag & take it to the cleaners. That's what I'd do, anyway...

Hon, toss it. I'm one of those people who usually keeps something like a bridesmaid dress for several years, thinking I'll find some way to reuse it, only to toss it later when I just get sick of looking at it. Chuck it...it'll only hurt for a minute!

Air it out in the sun, just dump the bag and run. The sun will kill the stinky bacteria and make it reasonable to take it to the cleaners.

As for the closet of old dresses, donate them to an organization that provides prom dresses to high school students OR...
an organization that provides dresses for young Marine wives to wear to the birthday ball.
