Since April, everywhere I go I see purple. It’s all the rage in fashion, I see it in the fall plantings, and everywhere online, there’s purple. And I remember Maddie.
Purple had never really been a color that I’d noticed or sought out. Then seven months ago, purple was suddenly everywhere. Recently, along with the increase of purple in my wardrobe, I bought a purple purse. It wasn’t that I purposely set out to buy a physical reminder of Maddie, yet everyday I pick up that purse and I remember her.
Today is Maddie’s second birthday. I’m going to wear a purple shirt, carry my purple purse, and keep Maddie, Heather, and Mike and their whole family on my mind and in my heart.

I actually learned of Maddie from a link on your blog. Thank you for introducing me to that wonderful little girl. She and her parents inspire me every day and make me a better Mommy and person.
I didn’t even realize it was her birthday today… I’m wearing a purple sweater with black and purple socks. Totally random, but I’m now happy I’m wearing them

I never use to be drawn to purple either. I notice purple EVERYWHERE now. I find myself buying purple tops ALL the time. I wear purple every Tuesday and am wearing it again today. I never really liked purple, but Maddie changed that. The reminders of Maddie are everywhere and I love it.

I, too, find myself drawn to purple. And when The Chicken’s room was being painted a shade of purple that she had picked out years before-I thought of Maddie.

Me too. I never noticed so much purple before in my life. Bright yellow flowers too. For some reason, when I see bright yellow flowers I think of her.
After reading this entry, I realized that I had randomly dressed my baby girl in purple today. I’m glad I did…
I see so much purple now, too. Much more than I ever saw before.
