My life is incredibly exciting. Tuesdays are certainly no exception, as it’s laundry day and every other Tuesday is particularly special because it’s sheet washing day. Thrilling doesn’t truly capture the essence of my days.
So I stripped my bed yesterday, carefully scooped up the sheets and pillowcases and made my way to the laundry room. My children, trained for such moments with their rapt attention to sheet-removal and washing machine basin filling with water sounds, stealthily made their way into my bedroom. They know my rule, the one about no jumping on mommy’s bed with her very fancy bedspread that if soiled or damaged, will make her cry rule.
I didn’t immediately hear them, but could hear the tell-tale giggles coming from my bedroom as soon as I closed the laundry room door.
It’s also against the rules to jump on mommy’s bed EVER, but that rule doesn’t go into effect until after I take a picture or twenty.

Nice bed!
My husband has stopped jumping on the bed since he ran down the hallway, jumped and realised mid-air that he weighed more than last time he did it…and later repaired the bed! (He has also since lost weight:])

My boys have that same stealth gene.
Once sheets are clean and dry, they’ll lay on the bed till I cover them up with a few layers. Oh the FUN!

I’m with Mep. The fact that you have an actual “sheet washing day” is super impressive. Sheet washing day at our house is usually just the morning after someone wets the bed.

Have they ever played parachute under the fitted sheet? It works well with high thread count or flannel- and is SO fun!

I find that jumping is one of my kid’s favorite activities. Whether it is jumping on a bed, or jumping in puddles, or jumping off couches… how can you really be upset when you see the pure joy on their faces?

Wow. I feel special that I actually strip the beds every Sunday and put clean, fresh bedding on all of them so everyone starts the week with clean sheets. (Yes, I do a lot of laundry.)(And I’m a little OCD about the cleanliness factor.)
