Captured.1-2

I have goals.  Lots of goals.

One of my goals is to continue to learn and grow as a photographer.  I’m so inspired by other’s creativity and risk-taking in photography that I decided to really commit myself to a project that would force me to open my eyes to the photographic possibilities around me.  I’m currently 17 days into taking 365 photos, one each day for the year 2010.

It’s hard.  It’s hard to always be in the mood to take a picture, to be creative, to relax enough to truly capture a moment.  I feel like if I don’t do this, though, I’m never going to be the photographer that I want to be.

On Sundays, I’m going to try and post my favorite capture from the previous week.  (Try.  Sundays are busy.)  Since I didn’t start until this week, I’m posting my favorite from the first and second weeks of the project.

week 1. the injustice

week 2. bath

You can see my entire set of photos for my project 365 {2010} on Flickr.

Well, I am incredibly mean. I wouldn’t let him play Mario Kart. I know! I should have child services called!

Do you have your pictures on Flickr for your project? If so, I’d love to see them! I’m constantly searching other’s photostreams for ideas and inspiration.

This sounds like a not only a good way to grow as a photographer but to also document in year in your life in a very in-depth way. I love the shots, thanks for sharing.

every year I say I am gonna do that and then I forget. I just got a dslr a few months ago. I have been reading up on http://www.momtog.com to learn how to use it. Look forward to seeing more pictures from you throughout the year. :o )

I love that doorknob shot. I’m doing I Should Be Folding Laundry’s You Capture — photography is certainly a weakness for me. I blame it on a crummy camera, but really, it’s my crummy eye that’s the problem. I’m hoping practice will make closer-to-perfect.

Ohh I get that one lots too – it usually results in the slamming of doors and my 4yr old ‘angel’ turning into an emo teenager! ;)
If this is what they’re like now then I’m not looking forward to 10 years down the line! LOL

Enjoy it! It’s a lot of fun. There are days I’ve missed a day here and there for one reason or another, but I’ve enjoyed it and do my best to get right back on the wagon. I should have started in at the beginning of the year, but instead started in March of last year, so I’ll be done in March and will try to decide if I want to restart or wait until next year…not sure. *sigh* I don’t make decisions well.

You took your camera in the tub with you? You are braver than me – I’d drop the damn thing for sure.

I was fully concentrating on holding my camera, took about 4 pictures then put it far, far, far away from the tub! I’m such a klutz, I’m lucky I didn’t drop it.

I started Project 365 this year as well, and it’s my first time doing it. It’s hard for me because I LOVE taking pictures of people, and it’s forcing me to get outside that and try my hand at other subjects.

I like your bathtub shot. Very creative.
