My computer passed away this week. It’s fine, she’s been very ill for a long time.
I did get a new computer, a shiny new Macbook. Happy Valentine’s Day, Happy President’s Day, Happy Birthday until 2015, Happy Arbor Day, and Merry Christmas until the end of time to me! It’s all very new and fancy, I do love it…but…I don’t have access to Photoshop. I’m going to limp by on iPhotos and Picnik until I can buy a new, Mac friendly version of PS. I know, my life is SO HARD.

Love Macs. I would suggest trying GIMP and/or Picasa before/ while waiting for Photoshop. They’re both free and great!

yay for the macbook! my computer died too… i stole my husbands laptop to replace it… which also doesn’t have photoshop :-/ but… at least it works.

Adorable pic!!!! I just bought an external drive to back up my laptop to transfer boatloads of files to free up some space. After I’ve secured all my pics and videos, I’d love it if my computer died…A macbook would be the perfect replacement!!!

Yay! Good ‘ol St. Valentine came through!
I was in the same boat as you 2 months ago – my husband killed our PC laptop and felt so guilty he bought me a mac. Problem was, we only have Photoshop for the PC. That’s when I downloaded the free trial of Lightroom for the mac, just to have something to edit pictures with while we waited for a few pennies to trickle in after Christmas. And then I fell in love with Lightroom and bought it instead and haven’t used Photoshop once in two months! Anywhoo, you might try the free trial on your new laptop for a bit and see what you think. Hope you love the new computer! I have to refrain from making out with mine on a daily basis.

I have been putting off getting a mac, because all of my photoshop and lightroom software is for PC. But wait! I discovered last week that you can get a bridge program that enables you to run windows (and thus windows based programs like photoshop for PC) on your mac! You have to shut down and restart to switch from windows back to mac os, but at least that way you don’t have to purchase another version of photoshop if you don’t want too — the best of all worlds!

OH! If you had Photoshop or Elements, you can just call Adobe and request a cross platform upgrade. It costs like $15 but then you have the software that works for your mac! It’s what I did when I witched from PC to Mac!
