It’s all going to be alright

We’ve been stuck in the house all week thanks to snow and ice and school cancellations.  Ella and I have croupy coughs and at 4 AM she appeared at the side of my bed with the resurgence of a fever that I hoped had packed up and left overnight.

This isn’t how I had planned to spend this week before Christmas and as I battled my sleep deprivation induced headache this morning I almost decided that I couldn’t do it.  Not today.  Not another day.

But then I took a shower and took some advil, put on lipstick, and decided to smile and be calm.

We ate our lunch on the coffee table while watching a little Thomas.  And this afternoon I’m calling for a special nap session in Mommy and Daddy’s bed.

It’s all going to be alright.

Ah that’s how we were right before Thanksgiving~kids with a stomach bug and no school and me with so much to do. But I put on holiday specials and rubbed achy heads and bellies and made the best of a crappy situation.

I hope you’re all well soon!

I’m experiencing a bit of this myself. Two infants + hardcore teething + a cold + frequent night wakings… good thing a visit to the grandparents’ is in sight. Can’t… hold out… much longer!

My kids are finally old enough to fend for themselves. I need to re-instate afternoon naps… for me.

Sickness sucks. Praying you are all well, rested and able to get outdoors again real soon.

Funny what a little lip stick will do for a mommy! It is tough to schedule in sickness during the already way too frantic holidays for sure! I hope you lil ones get well soon!

Amazing how a little lipstick and a nap in the big bed can make all the difference. Hang in there. I HATE it when my babies have fevers, especially.

that’s why I always wanted to have kids earlier, while I still have a lot of energy and patient. I always imagined myself as a young father of 20 years old kids :)
Kids came a bit later, but I love to say, “right on time” :)

I hope you’re all feeling better! We got snowed in a couple weeks ago, too. I’m enjoying not having to leave the house during break.
