I think I’ve already established the fact that I really love Etsy shops. I love buying things that are handmade and unique, not something that comes from a factory where 2 million other people can buy the exact same thing. I also love supporting small, women owned businesses.
I’d like to introduce you to Sarah, a jewelry designer and owner of Lil’ Masterpiece Jewelry. Sarah contacted me a few weeks ago and told me about her shop, where she takes your child’s artwork and transforms it into a wearable piece of jewelry.
Can I tell you how much I LOVE this idea?! Well, I LOVE this idea! And I loved working with Sarah to create my one of a kind necklace from Carson and Ella’s artwork.
To begin I emailed her photographs of Carson and Ella’s works d’ art. Carson’s picture was a drawing of me that he gave me last Mother’s Day and Ella’s picture was a kite she had painted.
Sarah asked me about the style of jewelry that I like, whether I prefer vintage, classic, or modern. She also asked to know Carson and Ella’s birthstones. I chose a vintage style necklace with emerald colored and pink tourmaline stones for their October and May birthdays.
Sarah sent me the mock-up of the design and I immediately loved it!
I loved how she was able to use the pink tourmaline as paint in Ella’s picture. I also loved seeing how Carson’s drawing of me would look on the pendant.
After Sarah worked her creative magic and made the piece, it arrived here in about a week. I’ve worn almost everyday since, one day with Ella’s artwork showing and other day’s with Carson’s.
Besides the fact that I now own this unique and beautiful jewelry piece, the second best thing about all of this?
